countryIf we were to briefly summarize its history, it might get a bit confusing. But let’s give it a try.
So, Bobcat began operations in North Dakota shortly after World War II. Actually, in the town of Gwinner, a man named E. Gideon Melroe founded his company, the Melroe Manufacturing Company.
But it wasn’t until 1958 that machine production began. In 1995, this company became part of Ingersoll Rand, which sold it to the Korean firm Doosan in 2005 for just under five billion dollars.
Doosan was founded in 1986 in Baeogaji. To cut a long story short, Doosan simply bought Bobcat. And that’s it.
This company specializes in construction machinery, namely excavators, loaders, material handlers, and the like. Naturally, it provides spare parts, warranty and post-warranty repairs, and general customer service.
The UK headquarters is in Waterloo, but its staff are slowly and quietly relocating to the Czech Republic. A new president for Europe has even been appointed, and that is Gustavo Otero.
It is certain—or at least widely rumored—that this company is set to invest significant sums in the Czech Republic. While specific plans have not yet been publicly disclosed, it is safe to assume they will remain closely tied to their core business. This will undoubtedly involve enhancing their comprehensive service strategy and, of course, providing optimal solutions for their customers.
The company already has a campus here, in Dobříš. Construction machinery has been manufactured there since 2003 and exported throughout Europe. And not just to Europe, but also to the Middle East and Africa. In the future, production is expected to reach around twenty-eight thousand machines per year.
Of course, here as elsewhere, the focus is on innovation, and there are 130 engineers working to improve every aspect of the business. So if Doosan Bobcat intends to invest here, in our country, it certainly knows what it’s doing.
